About
My name is Kathy Graham. I started this blog at the end of 2011. The gist of this blog, is to emphasize and reemphasize that there is no one size that fits all: not in food, not in medicine, not in relationships, not in lifestyle, not in “spiritual” understanding, not in anything.
I have practiced as a naturopathic physician since 1993. Prior to this, I worked as a registered nurse for 10 years in critical care areas including emergency, ICU, pediatric ICU, neonatal ICU and coronary care. I have seen phenomenal successes as well heartbreaking limitations in both types of medicines: alternative (complementary) and conventional.
I have divided my blog into 4 categories: Food, Medicine, Ramblings, Dad. The “Dad” category is my effort to pay tribute to my father who died in December, 2010. Throughout his life, especially during his last 4 months, he represented to me, the epitome of contentment. In a world where the push is on for bigger, better, more, limitless, infinite, immortal, it was my humble and quiet father who gracefully showed me that one size did not fit all.
I hold no one as my mentor and my greatest teacher is Life itself; Life, with its comings and goings, victories and defeats, comforts and discomforts, and joys and heartbreaks.
Playing morning co-ed basketball and hiking up breathtaking mountains are among my joys in life.
Other joys include a solid 33-year relationship with my husband, and I attribute this to luck, hard work, honesty, and a mutual desire in wanting the best for the other.
My most precious joys are our two incredible daughters. The raising of these two individuals continually drove the message home for me: one size did not fit all.
